How contado works
Four screens, no setup. You screenshot, you confirm, you swipe — and your books exist.
1Screenshot your payments
Open Venmo, Cash App or Zelle, screenshot the Transactions list — not the social feed, which hides amounts — and add as many as you like. They're sent to OpenAI to be read: we keep the rows it returns, not the image itself, though OpenAI may hold the image for up to 30 days to watch for abuse.
Demo data 2Check every row
Every payment comes back as a row: who, how much, when. Anything we weren't sure about is ringed in amber — tap it to fix. Nothing lands in your books until you've looked at it.
Demo data 3Sort with a swipe
One card at a time. Right is business, left is personal. Personal rows stay out of your books and out of your taxes.
Demo data 4Your books exist
Money in, money out, what you kept — by month, by service. Every log is saved to your account the moment you make it, on any device you sign into.
Demo data 5Know who owes you
Log a job before the money arrives and it waits in Owed, grouped by client, aged. Tap once when the cash comes — or a payment in your next screenshots clears it on its own.
6In January, your Schedule C is basically done.
Schedule-C categories on your expenses, a mileage estimate, proof of income, and a CSV your tax preparer opens directly.
Every flow survives ten seconds, one hand, in a driveway.
What contado is not
- Not an invoicing app — it tracks who owes you and clears it when the payment shows up.
- Not a bank connection — you upload your own screenshots, and screenshots will always be the default. There is no bank login in contado today.
- Not a tax filer — it gets you ready: categories, mileage, proof of income, a CSV your preparer opens.
- Not a scheduler, not ads, not selling your data.
